College of Media policy is that when a student takes a College of Media course or even a course outside of the College of Media that is cross-listed with one of their major courses (Media Studies, Journalism, Advertising or Cinema Studies), the course will always fall into their major elective requirements only. They will not allow you to use it for your minor.

The exception to this rule is INFO 202 (which is cross-listed with MACS 202) because it is specifically required for the informatics minor.

There is no exception for MACS 326/INFO 326 New media, culture, and society. Even though it’s cross-listed with INFO, if you are in the College of Media, this course will not count toward the informatics minor.
