I am interested in designing virtual environments that allow for expressive interaction with the computer.
My research is focused on interaction through body movement, where I incorporate Laban Movement Analysis as a language for describing movement, along with the Computer Graphics/Vision and Machine Learning to design algorithms for interpreting bodily expressions.
I have developed systems to understand expressions in dance and music performance, and currently I work on generalizing the movement model to develop an assistive virtual environment for rehabilitation of movement disorders.
